This is not about guessing. College App Guide is about experience, years and years of it.  While teaching high school seniors, I was tapped for assistance to navigate the excitement enveloping the senior year, of which the college application process was just one event.  I started the year perfecting the college essay to better prepare and encourage my students for higher education. The writing process is crucial for college and a strong component in getting accepted.  By helping students with the writing process, as well as showing them how to organize the deadlines and demands of the application process, I grew to know my student’s most important near- and long-term goals and objectives. I then applied this individual understanding of my gifted pupils by leading them through the entire process, from who to consider, how to research, all the way through to accessing and completing the online application process, fully organized with all required information. By the time I transitioned into teaching at our state university, I was able to witness the complete college-application cycle and see first hand what is required for success at the college level.
